LGBTQ history curriculum will now be taught in Illinois schools

Illinois just passed a new law that will force public schools to teach LGBTQ American history or something:

MYFOX8 – Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed into law on Friday a bill that ensures the contributions of LGBTQ people are taught in public schools.

House Bill 246 was introduced by Rep. Anna Moeller to amend the school code to add a more inclusive history curriculum.

“In public schools only, the teaching of history shall include a study of the roles and contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people in the history of this country and this State,” the bill states.

Equality Illinois, the state’s largest LGBTQ civil rights advocacy organization, supported the bill and said the curriculum can have a “positive effect on students’ self-image and make their peers more accepting.”

The organization said some topics that will be added to the new curriculum include the nation’s first gay rights organization, the Society for Human Rights, being formed in 1924 in Chicago, and Sally Ride, the first US woman in space, who was a lesbian.

“One of the best ways to overcome intolerance is through education and exposure to different people and viewpoints,” State Sen. Heather Steans, who also sponsored the bill, said in a statement on her website earlier this year. “An inclusive curriculum will not only teach an accurate version of history but also promote acceptance of the LGBTQ community.”

I predict homeschooling in Illinois is going to become very popular now that public schools will be force feeding LGBTQ history to students.

I wonder how long it will be before the federal department of education mandates this curriculum on all students? You know it’s coming, especially if one of these 2020 Democrats get elected.

I do have one suggestion for educators in Illinois. If they want to teach this right, they need to go back further than just the so-called American LGBTQ history. I’d say a good place to start is the ancient city of Sodom…

  1. Wait until the almighty State bans homeschooling and takes full custody over your child’s education. You damn well know that’s going to come to pass very quickly when they start a campaign to fully stigmatize homeschooling.

  2. Until the $ follows the student giving parents real school choice this deviancy indoctrination will continue.

    1. We paid out of our pockets for our kids to be home schooled, WITH OUR OWN MONEY, and paid taxes for indoctrination for the next generation of future voters!

  3. What does being gay have to do with being the first American woman in outer space? Why is it necessary to teach the former in order to teach the latter?

Is she famous for being an astronaut, or a homosexual? Why would they want to diminish her achievements by having her sexual orientation eclipse it? It’s a completely meaningless detail. It’s like saying, “This is Sally Ride. She liked french toast. She was a big french toast enthusiast. She really liked french toast. Also, she went to space once. And when she came back, she still loved french toast!”

It’s stupid. It’s stupid and serves no education purpose whatsoever.

    And no,

[helping create a] “positive effect on students’ self-image and make their peers more accepting.”

That is not an educational purpose.

      1. Why is that important to note? Why is her sexual orientation important at all? I thought it was just privacy in the bedroom. Now it’s like the whole of a homosexual’s identity.

      1. I like it better than american toast. American toast puts up a fight when you try to eat it. French toast just surrenders immediately.

  4. They’re not simply teaching children about lgbt BS, they’re putting evil thoughts in their impressionable minds. Satan’s work.

      1. No, he spoke about “avoiding STD’s.” Likening them to land mines in Vietnam. Either way, it has nothing to do with this article.

  5. Scoop, I like your last statement about going back to Sodom.
Why can’t people be acknowledged for their contributions without having to know if she is a muffdiver or if he is the catcher? I had no idea Sally Ride is a lesbian until I just read it here. It makes no difference to her place in history. Oh, but the gay mafia wants this in every child’s face. I feel bad for the people of Illinois – obviously Chicago runs the place.

    1. I grew up in San Francisco for Pete’s Sake. There was a bar in my neighborhood that I passed on the bus every day for years when I was a teen that I never knew was a lesbian bar until I was well into my 20’s.

I have worked with gay people at nearly every job I ever had, some were more obvious than others. No one ever made an issue about it. And no one ever was bullied or mistreated.

A person’s private life, especially their sexual life, is private. ESPECIALLY around children. This applies to whatever your preference is. Children are exposed to too many sexual images as it is. Let them be children!!!

      1. “A person’s private life, especially their sexual life, is private.”

I remember years ago when the Libertarians screamed that no government entity, or anyone else should look beyond their bedroom doors. Wouldn’t that also include their desires for sex with children?

I remember back then when the Libertarians were saying that “if it doesn’t pick my pocket, or break my leg, you can do whatever you want.

It is my opinion that the Libertarians were just as responsible for the cultural rot going on in this country right now as the liberals are.

    2. I feel bad for Sally Ride.

Trivializing her accomplishments in order to blather on about her sexual preferences seems kinda demeaning and cruel. “Oh you went to space? Hey who cares what’s important is this rainbow flag.”

It’s pretty insulting to the memory of an American hero.

    1. Yeah, right. It’s the new history curriculum where kids will be taught being homosexual & gaining acceptance is the same as being black & fighting for civil rights.

  6. This why we are being slaughtered in science and math aptitude scores by other countries throughout the world.

  7. This is an attempt to kill traditional marriage . This is about teaching kids at young age about how cool it is to be a gay or lesbian and how nice it is to not have kids when they grow up ! Instead of this disgusting thing, they should teach kids of morality , respect for rule of law! Why teach kids about disgusting acts of men and women of same sex? It is disgusting and evil!

  8. Just forget about teaching about the founders of this country. The most important thing is to normalize perversion. That is Job #1 for public school education.

    1. And Arthur Bishop. And Aileen Wuornos, for the ladies.

I think one of the Mendendez brothers was light in the loafers too.

  9. What contributions? Are they really going to teach the history of Hollywood and popular music in Illinois schools, or is the course going to be based on pure speculation?

    1. Chicago has a large black and hispanic population. As a whole they are pretty traditional. I hope they fight back.

    2. They aren’t “angry” exactly, but they feel something deep inside that is telling them that something isn’t right. But NO, THEY’RE not homophobic! So they must ignore…

    3. Chicago reminds me of what has become of VA. When you have highly populated areas in a state that have enough voters to cancel the votes in the rest of the state, you have mob rule. Illinois is Barack Obama’s home state. It also is where Valerie Jarret roamed free and with mighty powers/influence.

  10. Trump appointed some really really bad cabinet members. Most of them are now gone, thank you God. There are still a few that remain such as his Education Sec. Betsy Devos, who went all in on Common Core, and came from the Jeb Bush cabal. The other one still there is Bitch Mitch’s wife Elaine Chao.

You can’t drain the swamp unless you drain the entire swamp. Get a clue Trump.

      1. I’m not sure at all what you are trying to say. Can you give some explanation of what you are trying to say? Are you saying that Trump’s original cabinet picks were the jv team until he got more experience?

    1. Most of them will probably not be allowed. I know in some parts of Europe that they are forcing the kids to be a part of the brainwashing.

  11. ” One of the best ways to overcome intolerance is by education and exposure to different people And viewpoints …” funny they didn’t really appreciate different people and viewpoints when it comes to things like creation science and Christian roots, accomplishments, contributions and roles in the the founding of America but also help and aid all around the world. which is why they never teach any of it anymore. Sure glad I homeschooled my child.

    1. “Sure glad I homeschooled my child.” Me too Duckie! While he returned to public school for high school (would never have done it if it were current day) he knew enough to spot bull hockey when he saw it. Thankfully, he’s about as true blue (red?) conservative as they come now that he’s a grown man.

  12. History is not suitable for affirmative action or social justice where if we mention a white male heterosexual Christian like John Adams or George Washington, we then have to give just as many lines to Polynesian transexual animists and every other conceivable group.

Either an event or person was significant or they weren’t — they either changed the arc of history or they didn’t.

This is, in part, what the statists mean by a “usable past.” They’ll simply promote some aspect they want to drive their agenda. This is not history, this is political indoctrination.

  13. As a retired teacher of US history, economics and political science I can flat out tell you that there is not enough time to adequately teach American history in high school. This [email protected] will just eat up valuable time.

Why do we have point out a,person’s sexual orientation. Tchaikovsky is taught in music class. Do we have to point out that he was a homosexual? Isn’t that a useless distraction?

My students were convinced Louis and Clark were gay! Two guys going cross country? LOL! Well, that would be an appropriate class discussion in Illinois?

    1. I remember in English Lit we were taught about the “literary canon” meaning the most important or significant works in English Literature. Naturally, with so many to select from, anytime you add a new work to study you must remove one because there simply isn’t time to study everything. I can’t imagine how many important works of history and literature will be cast aside, as you point out, danaellen, to make room for this “important” information. What a waste of time!

      1. Thank you! You expressed my point very well! US history in high school is one year. When I started the curriculum went from colonial America to Watergate. When I retired it went from colonial America to the end of Bush’s term. The civil war , for example, was compressed to two days. The worst is the Constitution which requires at least 10 weeks but if I had to teach LBQT or whatever then the constitution gets watered down. Breaks my heart

    2. Everything one needs to know about Lewis and Clark can be found in an epic rap battle of history.

(Guest starring the guys from Good Mythical Morning!)

  14. The Democrats could not tolerate different viewpoints during the debates!! What a joke! Now they are teaching tolerance?

  15. With passing one of the most heinous and draconian abortion laws I’ve ever seen (declaring a baby at ANY stage to not be human or be accorded any human rights) and now this crock of poop I beg both God’s people and good conservative people to come out of this state if at all possible. It will be better for Sodom and Gomorrah than it will be for Illinois if God decides He wants to get their attention. These people have lost both their minds and their souls and really think that 1) God does not see what they do, 2) God doesn’t exist so they can do what they want because they believe in their own superiority or 3) that if God does exist then He’d surely agree with their “righteousness” because as everyone knows God surely didn’t mean everything He wrote in THAT book did He? Sigh.

    1. This is 100% the route I have in mind for my future kids and it’s non-negotiable, don’t care if I have to move to find a community with a decent homeschooling group, this modern government schooling bullshite is unacceptable.

  16. Pervert history?
You mean like The Charge of the Light in the Loafers Brigade or The Battle of Transfalger or even The Attack of Pearl Harvey?

  17. Will they be assessed on the ability to recall the sexual orientation of historical figures or the contributions those figures made?

  18. “I remember when LGBTQ meant Liquor, Guns, Bacon, Ta-tas and Quickies”
My brother – forever the teenager……

I see homeschool rates hitting a new high. Public school is child abuse these days.
