Liz Cheney made an absurd comment today, likely aimed at officials like Governor Ron DeSantis, about banning books.
She was responding to something that Jenna Bush Hager said today on the Today Show, which was…
“I have a friend in Nashville, so I knew of one of the little girls who was 9, who went to school yesterday and who didn’t get to come home,” Bush Hager told the TODAY show on Tuesday.
“We are worried about giving our kids Judy Blume and other books that are important to the history, to the fabric of our country, and we aren’t worried about sending our kids to schools where they’re not safe?” she added. “Like I just don’t understand what has happened to a country that I know you love, that I love.”
Cheney very much approved of what Bush said, responding by saying…
Thank you @JennaBushHager for making this point today – if we really want to keep our children safe, we need to spend less time banning books and more time stopping the horrific gun violence in our schools.

What a stupid comment. Nobody is talking about ‘banning books’. Rather, smart governors like Ron DeSantis and parents alike want to keep pornography and woke books about radical ideologies that lie to childen about history and their gender out of public school libraries.
But what makes this worse is that Cheney acts like this is a Republican problem. The shooter wasn’t a right-wing white male or anything of the sort. It was an adult female pretending to be a dude who legally bought guns and then used them to target a Christian school, likely over her hatred of Tenneessee protecting children from the trans mafia.
Yesterday’s shooting wasn’t a gun violence problem. It was a people violence problem like it always is, and this time it was a leftist woman with mental illness and hatred in her heart.
Cheney is sounding more and more like a Democrat every day:
The fact that Cheney is now unemployed at home apparently watching The View and nodding in agreement with the lazy talking points confirms so much. https://t.co/HTssMLTOZu

This remark is indistinguishable from something a Democrat would say.
The books you're defending — like the ones with graphic illustrations of adolescents engaged in oral sex — weren't banned, parents simply wanted to consent before they appeared in Jr High libraries. https://t.co/0UbALDGkAI

The "books" you're talking about are so sexually explicit that TV networks can't show them on the air.
Why do you want kids to see this? https://t.co/uFPXDSTbHv

Liz is about two tweets away from advocating for gun confiscation https://t.co/sDDLUv822h

I agree, trans people should not be able to buy guns. https://t.co/6rVMpoAoch
