Yesterday the mayor of Los Angeles, Eric Garcetti, tweeted out that it was 3PM and thus time for people to stop using electricity in order to conserve it for later or something:
It’s almost 3 p.m. Time to turn off major appliances, set the thermostat to 78 degrees (or use a fan instead), turn off excess lights and unplug any appliances you’re not using.
We need every Californian to help conserve energy. Please do your part. #FlexAlert

I have an idea. Why doesn’t this fascist mayor just turn people’s electricity off if they are using too much. You know, like he turned off the electricity to people’s homes who were having parties during the pandemic. It is California after all, a radical leftist state, and I’m sure the socialist citizens of Los Angeles would approve of that kind of heavy handed approach to conserving energy. Because it always works out that way.
As you can imagine, the mayor was scorched on Twitter after tweeting this:
We pay some of the highest taxes in the nation, and what we receive for those tax dollars are riots condoned by the city, and an insufficient energy grid to deal with the super-unpredictable fact that it gets f***ing hot in summer in CA https://t.co/4vzmfuZLJ6

Seems like CA could have probably spent some of the $6 billion they wasted on the failed high-speed rail project on upgrading their energy grid instead… https://t.co/zcvcRoTKos

guys, stop making fun of Los Angeles. no administration in the history of the United States has ever encountered hot weather, especially in that part of the world. https://t.co/o19DXjg6lt

It's pretty ridiculous we have this sort of problem in the 21st century. https://t.co/qLGFbaIRbl

This is India level energy policy… I'm not exaggerating. https://t.co/j5uN9b5vi7

Time to turn off the government of California and try something else. Maybe let Antifa take a run at it. Can't be worse. https://t.co/BYvfkFD2fZ
