Rubio was not happy this morning with the treatment that Melania was getting on the day she went to visit migrant kids. He defended her this morning in a very terse tweet:
I know for a FACT that @FLOTUS has been a strong voice of compassion for migrant children. The vicious treatment of her over the last day is a reminder of how Trump Derangement Syndrome,where hatred for him justifies everything,has become an epidemic. Totally lunacy everywhere!!!

Yesterday Trump tweeted that her jacket was aimed at the media. I just wish they would have owned when Melania’s press person gave a statement about it. It would have gone over so much better.
But they didn’t. They told the media not to obsess about it and didn’t explain what it was about. So it led people to wonder why she’d wear a jacket like that on such an important trip.
So while I appreciate Rubio’s sentiment and agree with him against the more vicious attacks, I still think they could have handled it better.
