Mark Meadows OUT of contention for Trump’s Chief of Staff

Mark Meadows really wants to be Trump’s new Chief of Staff to replace General John Kelly.

But according to reports, confirmed by the AP, Trump has told Mark Meadows that he’d rather him stay in Congress:

Here’s more from Politico:

House Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows is no longer under consideration to be President Donald Trump’s chief of staff.

“Congressman Mark Meadows is a great friend to President Trump and is doing an incredible job in Congress. The President told him we need him in Congress so he can continue the great work he is doing there,” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement.

Here’s who they report are is still in the running…

The development further narrows the list of possible candidates for the job. Among those who have been talked about for the position: former Trump deputy campaign manager David Bossie, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney, U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and Republican fundraiser Wayne Berman. Mulvaney and Mnuchin have both signaled to the White House that they are not interested in the job.

That’s pretty much who we reported the other day was on the short list, with the exception of Berman.
