CNN published an op-ed today attacking Republican Latina candidate Mayra Flores, claiming she’s not the ‘real deal’ and neither are the other GOP Latina candidates, because they are ‘outside the mainstream’ of Latinos:
“While these GOP Latinas may be having a moment in the spotlight, they hold views outside the Latino mainstream,” writes @RaulAReyes https://t.co/ku4IKpZ0Vc

Flores was quick to hit back on Twitter:
As per CNN: I'm not the real deal

Republican Cassy Garcia, who is running for Congress in Texas, responded as well:
When CNN attacks me as not a “real deal” Latina, what they’re trying to say is that I’m neither a socialist nor a Latinx.
That’s true. I’m a proud Texan. https://t.co/SN2vhV5s5K pic.twitter.com/52v18zG6R3

I love the screenshots of other CNN articles touting the likes of AOC and the ‘Latinx’ community. Because she’s right, you’d never see them writing articles like this about AOC.
And CNN knows what they are doing by allowing this article in the op-ed section. They probably ask Democrats to write op-eds like this so they can get it out there but claim it’s just someone’s ‘opinion’.
