Mitch McConnell announced a deal they’ve made with Democrats to send $14 billion to Ukraine to help them with the war.

This took a lot of conservatives on Twitter by surprise, who derided McConnell and Republicans for this:
I remember when the GOP struggled to get funding for Trump’s border wall but now they can just print money to give it to Ukraine. https://t.co/MDW5OJZOvg

Team GOP won’t fight for you, but they will fight for Ukraine. Why? Because the only party that hates you more than Democrats are the Republicans. https://t.co/UJna24qfNv

What about what AMERICANS need? https://t.co/RX7dAk48Hu

Democrats said $10B was too much for border security in OUR COUNTRY but we made a deal with Dems to give Ukraine $14B? We need to reset our priorities. We have a border crisis, an economic crisis, an opioid crisis and much more that need help. It’s time to put our people FIRST! https://t.co/Fvg7YgXw7L

This is the ONLY thing @LeaderMcConnell cares about. His one criticism in this living hell we now call America is that we are not alacritous enough in giving money to Zelensky. Hey Mitch, resign your seat and run for office in Ukraine. https://t.co/RX7dAk48Hu

This $14 billion should be spent on Americans if it is to be spent. A giant red flag: “it must be done quickly” means it’s an awful bill and it should never pass. Good bills can be discussed. Bad bills “must pass quickly” https://t.co/OJSVFO667D

How do we make sure that this money doesn’t end up in the hands of a notorious crackhead named Hunter Biden? https://t.co/vOLoIDoPAD

That last one made me chuckle.
Look, I’m not against helping other countries in their time of need. What’s happening to Ukraine is horrendous they would be a perfect target of charity. I am America first, but I’m not America only.
But that said, it’s truly hard to argue with the logic above from so many that when it came to securing our own border and building Trump’s border wall, Republicans largely balked at spending the money needed to do it. Their resistance forced Trump to eventually declare a national emergency in order to get the funds needed to build it.
But here they are dolling out a cool $14 billion to Ukraine? It does feel like a slap in the face.
UPDATE: This looks like it belongs here:
WATCH: @RepChipRoy ERUPTS on the House floor at both Democrats AND Republicans.
