Mick Mulvaney explained this morning that Trump did NOT capitulate or cave to the Democrats, but instead agreed to the deal to reopen government because his argument was WINNING among Democrats. They told him that he needed to open the government in order to move ahead.

This is interesting because it actually IS what Trump said during his speech announcing that he had accepted the deal – he said that more and more Democrats were agreeing with him that border security was needed. SO, now the question is whether Democrats were being honest with him, and he’s close to a deal for the border wall, OR if they were just lying to him in order to get the government open.
The proof will be in the pudding.
