Migrants begin HUNGER STRIKE at the border…

Migrants aren’t happy that the Mexican police are blocking them from trying to go across the border so they’ve decided to begin what they are calling a ‘hunger strike’ in protest:

Here’s more:

DC EXAMINER – Migrants from the Central American caravan camped out at the U.S.-Mexican border have launched a three-day hunger strike to protest the Mexican police blocking their way north.

Members of the thousands-strong caravan began arriving at the border earlier this month and are camped out in Tijuana, across the border from San Diego, Calif.

A 22-year-old Honduran migrant told Reuters Thursday the group’s 72-hour-or-so hunger strike aims to draw attention to the standoff at the border.

“What the police are doing is unfair. The truth is we are fighting for our rights,” Gerson Madrid said. “Why are [the police] treating us like this if we’re not causing them or the Mexican people any trouble?”

Reuters is calling this a ‘handful‘ of migrants and their so-called hunger strike is only 3 days long. How exactly is that a hunger strike? You can easily go a week or more without eating and not face real harm.

With it being such a small group and a limited 3-day hunger strike, I doubt anyone is going to take them seriously. They might as well let Mexico take them home and get on with their lives.
