Mike Huckabee considers leaving talk radio

Cumulus put Huckabee up against Rush Limbaugh as the “civil and discussion-oriented forum” after the Sandra Fluke incident. Looks like that is working out about how you’d expect:

INSIDE RADIO – A year after Mike Huckabee launched his daily three-hour radio show on Cumulus Media Networks, the former Arkansas governor and presidential hopeful says he’s now considering whether to stick with it. “Within the next month, I’ll decide if I want to continue it or not,” he tells Arkansas Business.

Huckabee says producing a daily radio show has been an “incredibly intensive process” and while he broadcasts from his Florida home, it can take up to seven hours a day preparing for the program. “I’ve got to always weigh how much time I’m putting in it and what the return is,” Huckabee says. The program has grown to about 225 stations, less than half the number that carry his daily short-form commentaries which have been in syndication since 2009. He also hosts a weekend TV show for Fox News Channel.
