The Washington Post reports that the mother of the military widow Trump spoke to yesterday was in the car and is affirming that Wilson’s account of the conversation was accurate:
Johnson’s mother, Cowanda Jones-Johnson, told The Post on Wednesday that she was in the car during the call from the White House and that “President Trump did disrespect my son and my daughter and also me and my husband.”
Jones-Johnson, speaking to The Post via Facebook Messenger, declined to elaborate.
But asked whether Wilson’s account of the conversation between Trump and the family was accurate, she replied: “Yes.”
Johnson’s mother may be telling the truth. But in my gut I find it difficult to believe anyone who would be so closely associated with a hack Democrat Congresswoman like Frederica Wilson.
But regardless of that the bottom line is this. Trump says he has proof? Well the ball is in his court to deliver on that proof in some reasonable way or to say no more about this and allow this story to take its course.
To put it plainly, it’s “put up or shut up” time.
