Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke said Ferguson is on fire now and it never should have gotten that way. He said Ferguson used to be majority white and now it’s majority black, yet the Ferguson police department never kept up with the changing demographic. He said that breeds mistrust in the community.
But he’s clear that nothing justifies the looting and rioting. And he also doesn’t think demographics is the whole solution. He says these are multifaceted problems and this is just one aspect of it.
