This is really interesting, especially because it’s posted at MSNBC. Actress Mindy Kaling’s brother says that his scores were much too low to get into medical school, so he applied as African-American in order to find out if Asians were being discriminated against when applying to medical school.

Vijay Jojo Chokal-Ingam says he applied to 22 medical schools with much lower grades than the normal applicant, but found that he was accepted at a much higher rate. This rather exposes the racism of Affirmative Action – if it’s meant to make up for racial disparities, then why are Asians punished along with whites? Do they experience less racism, or do they just apply themselves more despite whatever racial disparity there might be?
