Mitch McConnell explains why he wants to continue sending our tax dollars to fund Ukraine’s defense against Russia

Mitch McConnell was on Fox News this morning and voiced strong support for continuing to send our tax dollars to fund Ukraine’s defense against Russia.

In the face of the American people getting tired of funding this war, McConnell argued that “defeating the Russians in Ukraine is the single most important event going on in the world right now.”

Watch:

McConnell said: “Well I”m going to try to help explain to the American people that defeating the Russians in Ukraine is the single most important event going on in the world right now. It will save us an enormous amount of money down the road if the Ukrainians can succeed. They’re not asking for any of our personnel, they’re asking us for financial help. … In terms of the cost of it, it’s about .02 percent of our gross domestic product.”

McConnell went on to say that his biggest criticism of Biden is that he hasn’t acted quickly enough, soon enough on funding Ukraine’s fight against the Russians. He argued that we could have helped Ukraine to have even more success if Biden would have moved quicker on sending money and weapons.
