Morning Joe’s obsession with Trump continues to make him say things that are ridiculous. Namely this morning, he suggested that a Ted Cruz nomination would be far worse for the reelection of Republican Senators than would a Trump nomination:
Trump has become a disaster on all fronts. I’m more convinced now than ever that if he were to become the nominee, his Trumpertantrum style would turn off so many voters that they would either stay home or vote for Hillary, handing her the presidency.
And with that disaster at the top of the ticket, Democrats will use him relentlessly to attack their Republican counterparts, and in very crude ways, just as The Donald has been so crude. It won’t be about policy, it’ll be about Trump saying the f-word and the p-word and so forth.
So don’t tell me that Cruz would be worse for a Republican Senate. That’s garbage. Joe just has his head so far up Trump’s rump that he’s lost sight of how bad Trump really is.
