Mueller RESPONDS to accusations he TIPPED off CNN on Roger Stone arrest

SO after weeks of accusations that CNN was tipped off to be there when Roger Stone was arrested, Mueller is denying it, kinda.

From the Hill:

“The Special Counsel’s Office is aware of no information indicating that reporters were given any advance knowledge of a possible indictment from the Special Counsel’s Office,” prosecutors wrote in a footnote of a new court filing Friday.

Of course, if they tipped them off then it would be a very improper act. I’ve never believed it because there were plenty of opportunities for Mueller to do stuff like this, and he didn’t take them before.

On the other hand, if he wanted to leak this there’s plenty of ways to get it to CNN in a manner that would give him plausible deniability. OR it could be someone on his team, OR some Democrat in Congress that leaked it.

As for CNN, they’ve maintained that it was just good reporting that got them there:

CNN has publicly denied Stone’s claim that it was tipped off to the arrest. The outlet has credited good instincts, dogged reporting and a little luck for the early morning scoop.

“Stakeouts are a common practice in the news business. CNN, in fact, had another crew out on a stakeout in another state that same morning,” the network said in an online post. “The crew was at the home of another player in the Mueller probe, on the suspicion that the person could be arrested, but that hunch didn’t pan out.”

Very interesting.

Just wait till Trump pardons everyone not convicted of Russian collusion. There will be more crying and hand-wringing than when Hillary got mauled in the election.

After nearly 2 years of Mueller investigating everyone and everything Trump, apparently the only thing he has accomplished is being a 26 million dollar personal prosecutor of Paul Manafort (others charged were of process entrapment crime of technically lying, ie; misstatements from lack of memory, etc) as if Paul Manafort is the single greatest criminal abuse of govt power danger to America, which btw has absolutely nothing to do with Pres Trump or any so called Russia collusion nonsense, all the while the Obama Hillary corrupt conspiratorial DOJ / FBI – Comey, McCabe, Strzok, Ohr, Yates, Lynch, Brennan, Clapper, Powers, etc, have all gone uninvestigated, unindicted for their conspiracy to commit sedition, ie; bureaucratic political coupe to oust a sitting duly elected US President for purely personal political reasons.

Welcome to Democrat DC Deep State banana republic system of justice.

Lawyers words weasel talking nothing about notifying a SWAT (FBI tactical) Raid. So ‘indictment’ is meaningless

What a load of krap. I might be able to accept that if just ONE other news outlet was there. They were tipped off on this ‘made for TV’ bust and that’s the only reasonable conclusion,

You really think none of the stuff we’ve been reading was leaked from Mueller’s team? I read all about Stone months ago, I read about Cohen and Manafort and the rest too… they have been leaking, I don’t get why you would say they haven’t.

That’s how we are so certain there is no there there. If there was a there, we would have heard it long long ago.

Of course they leaked, they have a whole system now that likely doesn’t involve making a call… smoke signals, like Russian spies, they mark a mailbox with innocent looking graffiti or the like. There is leaking.

Maybe, maybe not. Who do you trust to tell you the truth? Mueller? CNN?

What I’d like to know is, why did it take 29 SWAT officers to take down an old, white man and a young, black man who made a terroristic threat by mailing crushed aspirin to his studio gets to turn himself in?

I wouldn’t trust Mueller if he told me grass is green. CNN? They wouldn’t know the truth if it bit them in the butt. Weissmann is the SWAT team guy, he’s compensating for his micro *****. Justice will be served when 30 or 40 agents show up at his house at 0 dark thirty with fully autos drawn and cocked. Would be a real shame if one had a malfunctioning trigger while pointed in his direction.

How do you think ‘investigative’ reporters/journalists get their stories?

Stakeouts are a common practice when ‘high profile’ people are being talked about as being ‘in trouble’!
No one can deny that Roger Stone was ‘being talked about’ as a target for the Mueller probe. So why would it be ‘unusual’ for a news reporter to be on ‘stake-out’?

The Special Counsel’s Office is aware of no information indicating that reporters were given any advance knowledge of a possible indictment from the Special Counsel’s Office

Translation: We aren’t stupid lawyers. Most likely someone in our office leaked that info, but we aren’t gonna open that can of worms and investigate it and rule it out so we don’t put our office in legal and ethical jeopardy.

BTW: Mark Levin had a former DOJ prosecutor on a week or so back who claimed to know for certain that one of the prosecutors on Mueller team is big leaker to the media.

How many FBI agents were recently used to apprehend a person that staged a fake hate crime in Chicago, along with a fake terrorist letter mailed to his place of employment?
Answer….NONE.

Plunkitt_of_Tammany_Hall

Plunkitt_of_Tammany_Hall

First, threatening letters are investigated by Postal Inspectors, not the FBI, and everything racist or threatening is not therefore “terrorist activity.” Second, you clearly said “ALONG WITH a fake terrorist letter”, so the “fake hate crime” that you were referring to was something else: namely, the bogus “assault.” Even if it had happened, that assault would not be a federal crime. Since (unlike some people…) I don’t live under a rock, I know these things.

If the FBI were looking at the same thing all of us saw they would be investigating the leak. I’m so insulted that they think we are stupid and continue to be so throughout this sham of an investigation. It is so disingenuous. If it was for real, given all we know, Muller should have also included the source of the collusion in the investigation, the Steele fake dossier and Hillary campaign. We wouldn’t have wasted so much time chasing fake news and ruining lives.

Andrew Weissman leaked it, and everybody knows it. He is the guy who attended Hillary’s failed party and now he is 2 to Mueller? I do not understand why some people pretend Mueller is beyond reproach. LOOK at who he has hired, how he has IGNORED Hillary’s collusion with Russia

K-Bob

All the “tip off” had to be was, “Psst, something big is going down at Stone’s house at 6am.”

That’s it. That’s all it would take.

Of course Mueller didn’t get told the leak happened.

Of course no “stakeout” could have possibly gotten a full camera + reporter crew there in time. That sh*t costs real money. Not even CNN could keep a full team on stakeout.

People need to *think* about this.

Dr. Strangelove
Guest
Dr. Strangelove

What I had heard was that the stakeout was at the court building and when the warrants were issued, they sent a couple teams out to watch the usual suspects.

K-Bob

K-Bob

I suppose it’s possible. But I still think it’s unlikely they’d be watching so closely for so long.

It also doesn’t explain the full tactical rollout.

It smells like a made-for-tv moment, cooked up in advance, with “coverage” being the whole point.

Dr. Strangelove

Or it could be a mixture of the two, they got a non-specific tip that it was going down and watched the court.

Some guys on RedState have followed the career of dirtbag Dem attorney Andrew Weismann who is 2nd in command of Mueller’s team. They’ve noted that this early morning SWAT arrest of non-violent suspects and tipping the media off so they would have a dramatic perp walk was one of Weismann’s signature moves 15 years ago when he was shaking down accounting firm Arthur Anderson in a series of high profile prosecutions that nearly all got overturned.

The leak did not have to come from the top. One agent who was getting ready for the raid at the station an hour before the raid may have gave a call to the reporter.
