Foreign Policy analyst Qanta Ahmed shocked CNN’s Fredericka Winfield when she went off on what a mistake it was to accuse Trump and Republicans of “Islamophobia” when so many Muslims actually respect and appreciate them for what they’ve done.
Here’s the videos from Ahmed’s appearance on CNN:
AHMED; How THE #ChristchurchTerrorAttack is being exploited #Islamists already - President #Erdogan in #Turkey is already campaigning on the #NewZealandMosqueAttacks in a grotesque attempt to fragment further the world between #Muslims and 'other' #Islamophobia pic.twitter.com/yUW5D3OMH7

AHMED:The difference between anti #Muslim #Xenophobia, including the devastating #ChristchurchTerrorAttack & #Islamophobia which has claimed the lives of Muslims & Christians who dare challenge #Islamism- the political totalitarian IMPOSTER of #Islam #NewZealandTerroristAttack pic.twitter.com/nFZUEUwq58

AHMED: it is FALLACY to claim the #Trump administration is '#Islamophobic' - On the anniversary of #Halabja and #Anfaal #genocide perpetrated by #SaddamHussein & Iraqi Arab government on Iraqi #Kurds claiming 180,000 lives only ended because of a #Republican @POTUS pic.twitter.com/e6sTT6xz3t

She did say Trump’s statement on New Zealand wasn’t good enough, but then added that he wasn’t responsible for someone putting them in their manifesto:
AHMED @POTUS cannot be held responsible for #ChristchurchTerrorAttack POTUS must condemn all lethal bigotry. @CNN must acknowledge the @realDonaldTrump DID give a very emphatic condemnation of the ChristChurch attacks which was gratifying to #Muslims #Islamism pic.twitter.com/I3R6ij8Nk9

She says Trump is “beloved” by some, and explains how George W. Bush acted to save many in Muslim countries. Kind of a refreshing take from all the crap we see so often.
That’s probably why the only place you can find that clip is on Ahmed’s twitter, and not on CNN or YouTube. Weird, right? Ahmed seems like a very reasonable and rational critic of Islam.
That’s it for this Sunday. I hope you all had a great weekend. Have an open thread for St. Paddie’s Day, but don’t pinch each other!!
