As predictable as the sunrise, Trump’s announcement that he’s going to release the full, unredacted transcript of his call with the Ukrainian president tomorrow won’t have any bearing on Pelosi’s impeachment announcement today:

President Trump’s promise to release the transcript of the conversation he had with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky may not quell Democratic calls for an impeachment inquiry, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Tuesday.
“No, it’s not about that,” the top congressional Democrat said at the Atlantic Festival. “This is about the Constitution of the United States. And we’ve had many other, shall we say, candidates for an impeachment offense in terms of the Constitution of the United States, but this one is the most understandable by the public.”
Describing the situation as a “sad” predicament, Pelosi reminded the audience that impeachment does not require that there be a quid pro quo in the conversation.
“If the president brings up, he wants them to investigate something, his political opponent, that is self-evident that it is not right,” she said. “We don’t ask foreign governments to help us in our elections. That’s what we tried to stop with Russia.”
Pelosi added that Trump was “making lawlessness a virtue in this country.”
The transcript is the single biggest piece of evidence, but now the Democrats suddenly don’t care about it? And Pelosi is also saying a quid pro quo isn’t necessary to impeach? Then what the heck are they going to charge Trump with for the “high crimes and misdemeanors”?
This notion that Trump can’t ask the Ukrainian president to investigate Biden’s corruption is preposterous. It was Biden himself who blabbed about using his position as VP AND US grant money to force Ukraine to fire their top prosecutor, who happened to be investigating his own son and reportedly George Soros.
I get that Biden is a political opponent and this may not have been the best way to handle it. But exactly what crime was committed here by Trump? NONE! And I suspect that when we see the transcript of the call tomorrow it probably won’t even sound like a big deal.
Democrats have been on an impeachment witch hunt since Trump won the election and the fact that they don’t care about the transcript of the call just shows that they don’t care about the facts, they just want to impeach because they are desperate to beat Trump in 2020. That’s what this is all about.

NEW: Emerging from Pelosi’s office, House Ways and Ways Chairman Richard Neal says each of the six chairmen will continue to investigate under the umbrella of an impeachment inquiry.
“The other committees are going to act under the umbrella of formal inquiry,” Neal told us

So what Pelosi is endorsing is a continuation of existing investigations the six committees are doing to determine whether to recommend articles of impeachment. And assuming they do recommend articles of impeachment, Judiciary will vote on those articles before full House does

So what Pelosi seems to be endorsing is essentially what already has been happening – but now she’s signaling she’s supportive of calling it impeachment inquiry with the goal to determine whether to impeach Trump

So Pelosi isn’t going to announce anything new, just that the House committees will continue on their witch hunt looking for a reason to impeach Trump.
