Last night Nancy Pelosi was quick to tweet about Trump getting indicted and she sounded like an authoritarian.
Pelosi wrote: “The Grand Jury has acted upon the facts and the law. No one is above the law, and everyone has the right to a trial to prove innocence.”
I hate to admit that when I first read this I didn’t catch the ‘error’. But there were several conservatives who did and here’s what they wrote:
Stalinist Pelosi. Prove innocent? It's innocent until proven guilty, moron. Or at least used to be. https://t.co/BbaJlLvLmU

Uh it's "innocent until proven guilty" not opportunity to "prove innocence" https://t.co/eOfpYszKLi

And that’s exactly what the ‘fact-check’ was about from Twitter’s Community Notes:
Leave it to Nancy Pelosi to word Trump’s guilt in such a way that he must prove his innocence, acting as if the whole endeavor by NYC is legitimate.
I’m sure this authoritarian knew exactly what she was doing when she wrote it and I’m glad Twitter’s reader fact-check moved to correct it.
