NBC did two approval polls for Trump in one week after the first approval poll showed his approval at an all-time high.
The first approval poll was done BEFORE all the Cohen/Manafort news, and according to Chuck Todd, they thought their viewers would be skeptical. So they did another one after the news broke and here’s what happened:
Nuuuuthin! His number stayed almost exactly the same, as the slight changes were within the margin of error.
Todd attributes the support to a 90% approval rating for Trump among Republicans.
The lack of change must’ve been shocking for NBC, as Todd even quoted a pollster saying the Cohen/Manafort news more like “fools gold” and not a “silver bullet”.
