Neil Young tells Spotify they can’t have both him and Joe Rogan. Guess which one Spotify chose…

Neil Young gave Spotify an ultimatum, telling them to drop Joe Rogan from their service because of so-called ‘covid misinformation’ or they’d have to drop him.

BREAKING NEWS: SPOTIFY DROPS NEIL YOUNG. LOL.

WSJ – Neil Young’s music is in the process of being removed from Spotify Technology SA’s streaming service, according to people familiar with the matter, as the folk-rock star isn’t wavering in his objections to Joe Rogan’s podcast.

The “Heart of Gold” and “Harvest Moon” crooner earlier this week penned an open letter to his manager and label asking them to remove his music from the service, saying it is spreading fake information about Covid-19 vaccines through Mr. Rogan’s show. “They can have Rogan or Young. Not both,” he wrote.

Spotify struck a deal with Mr. Rogan in 2020 worth more than $100 million, according to people familiar with the matter, bringing his popular and lucrative show exclusively to its service.

While the letter has since been removed from Mr. Young’s website, he has been in discussions with his label, Warner Music Group Corp.’s Warner Records, and Spotify since then, and continued to hold his ground, according to the people. The formal request to remove the music was made Wednesday and could take several hours to take effect across Spotify’s service across the world.

Good riddance Neil Young!

I don’t do spotify but I applaud them for not canceling Joe Rogan. Blame it on profit motives or whatever, but it’s nice to see Rogan get this win.
