Donald Trump’s speech at the Lee County GOP’s Lincoln-Reagan Dinner was mostly critical of Biden and the Democrats, but the 45th President did set aside some time for RINOs and other Republicans.
Although Trump almost avoided taking shots at DeSantis — almost — he was pretty clear about the warmongers, RINOs, and globalists of the old, pre-Trump Republican party.
The part as it existed before him will never exist again after him, he said to the crowd.
This is the most objectively true thing I think one can possibly say in politics.
For sure it will never be the same, or even close to the same, ever again. There’s just no question about it.
The changes are too pronounced in the party, in that the base and the voters won’t be able to slip back into the tolerance for quasi-conservative or leftism-indulging politicians who would pretend at leading it.
