A poll out today by the New York Times and Siena reveals that Democrats have something to worry about if they shut the government down tonight.
It shows that a huge majority says the government should not be shut down, with only a small plurality of Democrats saying it should.
Here’s the poll:
Now it’s not quite that simple, because Aaron Blake reveals that a tiny plurality of voters also say they would blame Republicans for the shutdown:
New NYT-Siena poll shows slightly more registered voters would blame Trump and GOP (26%) than Dems (19%) for a shutdown.
But they say 65%-27% that Dems should not shut down the gov't if their demands are not met. pic.twitter.com/xUQWv9j8op

Another poll claims a much larger plurality would blame Republicans:
NEW GOV SHUTDOWN POLL: Voters recognize that Republicans have full control of government and are poised to assign blame for a shutdown to them. So, the question for Democrats is what story to tell when the spotlight is turned on them—a rarity these days. pic.twitter.com/HqFvWwjFB7

This makes no sense to me. Trump and Republicans have put forth a clean CR with no agenda items on it whatsoever. Oh wait, I get it now. Most of the people polled are probably still under the influence of the Garbage Media Complex. Yeah, that’s probably it because Democrats still have a stranglehold on much of the media that people consume.
