A new national poll out by Quinnipiac should have Democrats worried, as it shows support for impeachment slipping:
DAILY MAIL – A Quinnipiac University poll that was released Tuesday showed 51 percent of registered voters were against impeachment, while 45 percent of registered voters supported it.
‘With Washington in turmoil and House Democrats poised to vote on impeaching the president for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, American voters signal they are slightly more inclined not to impeach than to impeach,’ said Quinnipiac University Polling Analyst Tim Malloy in a statement.
The number of people against impeachment has increased a few points from their last polling in November:
While 45 percent of registered voters asked in November said they supported impeachment, 48 percent said they were against it.
The poll has a 2.5 percent margin of error.
If the above Quinnipiac poll has Democrats worried, this series of new polls below should have them quaking in their jack boots because they are showing that impeachment is actually helping Trump in mega-battleground states:
AXIOS – Quarterly polling by the Republican firm Firehouse Strategies, with Optimus, had President Trump struggling in the mega-battlegrounds of Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin — but in the newest edition, he beats every Democrat.
The big picture: Trump won by an average of six percentage points in hypothetical match-ups against all current Democratic candidates, including Joe Biden, who was performing well in head-to-head contests against Trump in polling conducted earlier in the year.
The poll found that a majority of likely 2020 voters surveyed do not support impeaching and removing Trump from office.
Firehouse partner Alex Conant tells Axios: “Democrats racing towards impeachment are at serious risk of leaving behind the voters they need to retake the White House next year.”
Battleground states is where all the magic happens in presidential elections and this should tell Democrats that impeachment is a sore, sore loser for them. But I hope they ignore this and vote to impeach Trump next week when Pelosi brings her articles of impeachment to the floor. Election night 2020 will to be EPIC!
