New Romney ad touts non-partisan AEI study that shows Obama will raise taxes on middle class

This ad is great because if nothing else it minimizes the whole argument of ‘my study is better than your study’. In fact Romney’s comment last night that he had six studies that said Obama’s study was wrong was excellent at getting to that point.

But this ad is better because it actually tells viewers to go read the study at AEI for themselves to see why it shows Obama will raise taxes on the middle class, instead of just taking Romney’s word for it. I like that a lot because then people will be able to decide for themselves whether or not it has credibility.

AEI is universally recognized as a conservative think tank that strongly influenced the thinking of the 2nd Bush administration.

They may be “officially” non-partisan, but don’t be fooled into thinking they are unbiased.

You may agree with their presumptions or you may not, but be aware they they are anything but neutral in this campaign.

So,…. the AEI is non-partisan because it is a Libertarian think tank?????

They may do some good work and analysis, but you have to realize that every analysis they do starts from presumptions about economics and human nature that you may not necessarily agree with; and facts may not necessarily agree with.

The American Enterprise Institute is extremely partisan. They are a conservative think-tank. Dick Cheney works there, for crying out loud. Twenty of their scholars worked for the G.W. Bush administration. Non-partisan? In what universe?

Independent Non-Partisan Study? Take a look at the AEI’s Board of Trustees who issued this study. Business Partners of Bain, CEO’s of Major RNC corporate donors, and Dick Cheney…truly a non-partisan study. *sarc*

Don’t believe everything you see folks.

Wake up the late-comers to this election and have them do their own homework. I agree.

I’m still trying to rationalize the beating last night and have one conclusion: Maybe Obama is just tired of actually being President. He likes the celebrity part, but maybe he is tired of the actual work. He seemed like he knew he was over his head in the 1st place, so now he has located a way out. That’s how bad he lost last night.

The Age Of Bronze
—Lord Byron—

Though Alexander’s urn a show be grown
On shores he wept to conquer, though unknown —
How vain, how worse than vain, at length appear
The madman’s wish, the Macedonian’s tear !

He wept for worlds to conquer — half the earth
Knows not his name, or but his death, and birth,
And desolation ; while his native Greece
Hath all of desolation, save the peace.

He “wept for worlds to conquer ! ” he who ne’er
Conceived the globe, he panted not to spare !
With even the busy Northern Isle unknown,
Which holds his urn, and never knew his throne.

I have been thinking the same thing. Because he doesn’t seem to care about all the gaffes by Biden, Cutter etc. He allows his campaign to be vicious liars, his eye candy comment on the The View while the ME burns, ignoring the UN General Assembly meetings etc. He will never be more popular with his minions, he has peaked, he will get rich on speaking fees, he does not want to work anyway, so what if he is not re-elected. I see him being okay with leaving the WH. Michelle will miss the FL perks.

Liberals always, always raise taxes. It’s in their DNA and they don’t want it changed one iota. Besides raising taxes, liberals like to try and hamstring our marvelous military services. That’s also in their DNA. Nothing will ever change with those gomers!!!!!

Speaking of Obama last night did you see the John Owens tweet right after the debate? They were talking about how Obam looked a little sad and reserved, John’s tweet went something like this:

They say that depressed people sometimes experience a compulsion to eat. Hope Michelle puts “BO” out tonight.

Hmm, an Obama “spit roast” in Hawaii? A freshly butchered main course, spinning slowly over glowing goal, a white sand beach in the moonlight under the swaying palms, a cool breeze from the east…was it suckling pig or Labrador Retriever? Hmm

Good one p m!

Tax hike on middle class is inevitable with the policies in place. However your cost of living has increased phenomenally with prices sky rocketing and health care increases. A hike is a hike no matter where it comes from. Wait until people really get a gander at the tax hikes in Obamacare and it is on things that have nothing to do with healthcare.

IIRC Romney pointed to those COL increases last night – unless I said it for him!:) You’re abslutely right – we don’t realize how much tax we pay on everything – it goes way beyond the base rates. And with all the green crap insinuating its way into gas taxes, electronics and recycling, yes, there is a tax on breathing – a few in fact. The only ideas socialists have are to do with inventing taxes and fees.
Curse them.

Yes, Romney did point that out last night. He mentioned it when he was talking about small businesses and their tax rate. He talked about how small businesses pay the individual tax rate and not the corporate tax rate and that, along with federal taxes, state taxes, gas taxes, sales taxes, etc., etc., ad naseum, adds up to small businesses paying a 50% tax rate.

Though they don’t call it a tax, inflation is also a tax for all intents and purposes. All the money printing has stolen trillions from us but too many don’t realize that much of the higher costs of food and gas are the fault of government policies.

I’m beginning to think Portman was going to be the VP by the amount of ads with him and Romney together.

Portman was much more impressive than we first gave him credit for. He did a fantastic job of helping Romney prepare for the debate.

I wonder if Portman threw in enough “uh’s” and stuttering.

Good I agree with TRS….let people JUDGE FOR THEMSELVES! Smart for Romney to address taxes! This affects people in the area that matters the most: THEIR WALLETS!! Shows courage for Mitt to use a NON-PARTISAN STUDY to bolster his plan!! Great Ad!!

We are seeing more ads ladies and gentlemen from Mitt, Superpacs and the GOP…this was what all of us wanted!! Keep up the barrage against Obama!

Also, what about all of the huge tax increases in Obamacare? All of them kick in next year and the taxes hit EVERYBODY, especially with massive increases in capital gains and dividend income taxes. And, since the Supreme Court now says that the mandate in Obamacare is a TAX and not a mandate, that means EVERYBODY, even young people right out of school, are going to have to either get insurance or pay the fine (or tax). These are huge increases and Romney’s team should make more of it.

Right, right, right and right. Just wait until the 21-26 year old kiddies are told NO by mom and dad about staying on their insurance because mommy and daddy don’t want to support them anymore!
