New York Post presidential polling shows BIG difference before and after debate…

The New York Post did a pre-debate poll on June 22-24 and did a post-debate poll on the 27-28. This was not a poll about the debate, but about which presidential candidate they’d vote for if the election were held today.

In the pre-debate poll of 878 likely voters, Biden nudged out Trump by two points, 43% – 41%:

In the post-debate poll of 874 likely voters, Trump walloped Biden by 7 points, 45% – 38%:

That’s a big difference. The swing for Trump was +4 points and for Biden it was -5 points.

Another post-debate poll from SurveyUSA came out on Friday that was actually done on Friday and it had Trump leading Biden by two points. There is no recent comparable poll.

Former President Donald Trump leads incumbent President Joe Biden 45% to 43% among likely voters in an election held today, June 28 2024, the day following the first Presidential debate. 6% of likely voters say they would vote for another candidate; 7% are undecided.

They did the survey before Biden gave his speech in North Carolina. They interviewed “3,300 adults from the entire United States 06/28/24. Of the adults, 2,831 were identified as being registered to vote; of the registered voters, 2,315 were determined by SurveyUSA to be likely to vote in the November general election and were asked how they would vote in November.”

They also identified 879 Democrats and asked “If Biden is replaced on the top of the ticket, which Democrat should replace him?”

43% chose Kamala Harris while only 16% chose Gavin Newsom.
