North Carolina now issuing free voter ID cards in preparation for 2016 elections…

Just as the governor said, North Carolina is now issuing free voter ID cards for those who don’t have a drivers license or other form of ID. But I’m sure this won’t stop the race-baiters out there from calling the law racist:

WGHP – The state of North Carolina started issuing no-fee voter identification cards on Thursday, in accordance with a new state law passed during the 2013 legislative session.

North Carolina voters will be required to have photo ID to vote in person starting in 2016.

The no-fee identification cards are available for people who have no other forms of photo identification. Applications for the IDs are available at any North Carolina DMV driver license office.

Applicants will need to present documents to verify their age and identity and provide a valid Social Security number.
