Seven shot, two dead in Los Angeles area Peck Park. Police believe ‘multiple shooters’ [UPDATES]

Local NBC affiliate KNBC-LA reported just moments ago on the shooting that took place in Peck Park, which is in San Pedro/Los Angeles. At the time, both a car show and a baseball game were underway. Update at 7:25 pm Los Angeles time (10:25 ET): Fox LA has just reported that the briefing with officials confirmed two of the four critically wounded individuals have died.

Police say seven victims were shot, four of whom were critically injured. Two now deceased. Four men and three women were reportedly transported to hospitals after the shooting.

Watch the report from KNBC here:

LAPD tweeted that it was not an active shooter situation but did not yet make a statement that we’ve found about taking anyone into custody.

The tweets embedded below are not verified by us, so take them as you will.

Various verified accounts are reporting two dead but we have not seen that confirmed on local news stations or police Twitter or Facebook accounts.

UPDATE 1:

This video is fairly unique, the police running in.

I also saw several people make the point about the stringent gun control in Los Angeles and California and how much difference it doesn’t make.

UPDATE 2:

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
