NPR so triggered it vows to stop using Twitter

Lefist news outlet NPR is very upset at the new ‘government-funded media’ label that Twitter has added to its account.

In fact they are so upset that it’s being reported that they are vowing to stop using the platform altogether:

Well ain’t that just something.

NPR takes money from the federal government and yet it doesn’t like the honest label of government-funded media?

It’s true that they aren’t completely government funded, but they do take money from federal and state governments, according to influencewatch.org:

“Presently, NPR receives funding for less than 1 percent of its budget directly from the federal government, but receives almost 10% of its budget from federal, state, and local governments indirectly.”

‘Indirectly’ simply means through grants, which is still all taxpayer money.

If NPR doesn’t need the federal money they should stop taking it altogether and this won’t be an issue going forward. But we all know that’s not going to happen.

One person snarkily responded to the news that NPR was leaving Twitter:
