NY Times CAVES to major backlash from Democrats, dumps positive headline about Trump…

Both 2020 Democrats and others freaked out over a New York Times headline following yesterday’s speech by Trump after the mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton.

The original headline was “TRUMP URGES UNITY VS. RACISM” with a subheading of “A National Outcry Over Extremism”:

I’m actually not too crazy about the title of the article. I would have preferred “Trump Urges Unity After Mass Shootings” or something along those lines.

But it wasn’t the right who got so upset about the title of the article. It was the LEFT, and they were furious:

Beto tweeted “Unbelievable.” in response to the article:

 
Cory Booker chastised the Times saying “Lives literally depend on you doing better, NYT. Please do.”

 
Kirsten Gillibrand responded “That’s not what happened”:

 
Bill de Blasio decried the title saying “Hey, @nytimes — what happened to “The Truth Is Worth It?” Not the truth. Not worth it.”

 
And lastly our favorite radical socialist called the NY Times ‘cowards’, saying “Let this front page serve as a reminder of how white supremacy is aided by – and often relies upon – the cowardice of mainstream institutions.”

 
So how did the New York Times respond to this backlash by Democrats? By being exactly what AOC said they were, cowardly.

For their second print edition they completely changed the headline to read “ASSAILING HATE BUT NOT GUNS”. They even changed the subheading to “Backlash to Extremism Pressures the President”:
