Obama: “The idea of doing things on my own is very tempting”

Yes, President Obama really said that earlier today at the National Council of La Raza’s annual conference (video via Real Clear Politics):

Wow. Here we have a sitting United States President half-kiddingly fantasizing about how awesome it would be if he didn’t have to deal with that pesky Congress – and the audience erupts into a chant of “Yes you can! Yes you can!”

Absolutely chilling.

I guess being a United States President is hard when you don’t have huge majorities in Congress to do your bidding.

But just imagine how the Left would react if George W. Bush said anything like this.
