It’s no shocker that the Democratic House passed a resolution to block Trump’s national emergency.
It was totally expected:
The House has voted to overturn President Trump’s declaration of a national emergency for the border.
The vote was 245-182
All Democrats voted for the measure.
They were joined by 13 Republicans.
Now to Senate, where @senatemajldr
says they will vote on it.#BreakingNews— Mike Emanuel 🇺🇸 (@MikeEmanuelFox) February 26, 2019
They just got 13 Republicans to come over? Honestly I was expecting it might be larger number than that.
I’ll post their names as soon as the roll call vote is published.
Next, the Senate must take up the bill in the next 18 days. Democrats already have three Republican defections in the Senate. One more and they can put the bill on Trump’s desk for a veto. And if that happens and Trump vetoes it, the bill is effectively dead.
From earlier today:
Here are the Republican Senators who will vote AGAINST Trump’s National Emergency
