CNN’s Jim Acosta tried his best to get Sarah Sanders to contradict Trump today on his statement that the press is the enemy of the people. But instead he got an earful on just how bad the press has been to not only Trump, but to her.
Watch:

Jim Acosta is so obnoxious. Before she’s even able to answer his question, he’s already interrupting her. Ugh.
Acosta wants Sanders, just like Ivanka, to give her personal opinion about Trump’s statement. But she’s not there to speak on her behalf and she’s never going to contradict Trump when she’s there to speak on his behalf. Acosta knows this and is just being a putz about it.
I do like how she went after the press for attacking Trump’s language, by going a list of vicious attacks on her, pointing out that some of them have even come from Acosta’s own network CNN. Acosta tries to empathize with her, saying he wished it had never happened to her, but it comes across as less than sincere – even condescending – as he simply wants her to contradict Trump.
She never gives him what he wants, of course, but she does give him a good schooling. But I doubt very seriously if he learned anything.
UPDATE:
Like I said, obnoxious:
I walked out of the end of that briefing because I am totally saddened by what just happened. Sarah Sanders was repeatedly given a chance to say the press is not the enemy and she wouldn't do it. Shameful.
