Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the “Sandinista Barista,” continues to show what a dim-witted fool she is, in a recent report proving her campaign has acted very hypocritically.
What she did was accuse Uber of causing SUICIDES among taxi cab drivers, and then went out and used the service tons of times for her campaign.
NYC's fourth driver suicide. Yellow cab drivers are in financial ruin due to the unregulated expansion of Uber. What was a living wage job now pays under minimum.

We need:
- to call Uber drivers what they are: EMPLOYEES, not contractors
- Fed jobs guarantee
- Prep for automation https://t.co/FjfapJV2ni
There have been a few cases like this and people on the left have jumped on them to vilify Uber. It’s unclear whether there’s a direct connection between Uber and these suicides. But Uber can’t be responsible for poor decisions that taxi cab drivers might make.
In any case, someone discovered that Cortez’s campaign was RIFE with Uber usage!!!
That was in March, months before the New York socialist, who recently lamented the closing down of a coffee shop over minimum wage hikes that she supports, became the new face of the progressive Democratic Party.
But between April and late June, the Ocasio-Cortez campaign recorded spending nearly $4,000 on Uber for what appears to be 160 rides by its staff, Federal Election Commission (FEC) records reveal.
The payments to California-based Uber ranged from just 59 cents to $82.26 and were filed under “car service.” There’s no data yet for the months of July and August.
Why are you killing taxi cab drivers, Alexandria?!? ANSWER ME THAT!!
Here’s another one:
Ask your next Uber/hail service driver what their life is like.

Many are teachers, or work retail, or have another job.
Unemployment isn’t the major problem for those folks.
It’s that, on one wage at 40 hours a week, they aren’t paid enough to live.
I actually make it a point in my life to ask my Uber drivers if they like working for Uber. Every single time I’ve asked, they have ALL said, every single one, that they love it. They love the freedom, they love setting their own hours. They love it.
NOW, whether it’s a good deal to drive for Uber is another thing altogether – there are some people who think that drivers are being ripped off in ways they don’t think about. Basically, the costs associated with running an Uber business are not taken into consideration into the hourly wage.
BUT, whether that’s true or not, contrary to what Ocasio is claiming, I think most Uber drivers love it.
