Office of Debbie Wasserman Schultz evacuated over suspicious package…..and others, including Kamala Harris!

It’s being reported now that the office of Debbie Wasserman Schultz has been evacuated after receiving a suspicious package:

MIAMI CBS – The building that houses Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s office in Sunrise was evacuated after a suspicious package arrived in the mail, according to Sunrise police.

A Broward Sheriff’s Office bomb squad was called in to determine what exactly was delivered to the congresswoman’s office at 777 Sawgrass Corporate Parkway.

It is not known if the package sent to Wasserman Schultz is linked to the other devices.

My first thought is that this is probably just DWS’s staff being extra cautious. But then I read this little nugget that makes me think that perhaps she could be targeted as well:

A suspicious package containing a pipe bomb was sent to billionaire investor and major Democratic donor George Soros earlier this week.

The package sent to Soros had Wasserman Schultz’s address as the return address, according to CNN.

Hmmmmmm. If that’s true, that can’t be a coincidence.

The office building that houses Sen. Kamala Harris and the San Diego Union-Tribune was also evacuated after a suspicious package was found, according to CNN:

San Diego Police are currently investigating a suspicious package and have closed off a section of 6th Avenue where the San Diego Union-Tribune is located, according to Officer Billy Hernandez.

The building that was evacuated houses the San Diego Union-Tribune, Senator Kamala Harris’ field office, and other offices this morning.

It is not clear where the packages were to be delivered. One U-T staffer also noted that a bicycle pump looking device was near the boxes.

A quick recap of what we know via this reporter from the Independent:

If what he’s saying about the bomb sent to CNN that was addressed to John Brennan was true, why would they even send it there?

There’s a press conference at 12:45 which will hopefully answer some of these questions. But don’t get your hopes up as it may not answer much at all since their investigations have just begun.
