I don’t know how it’s numerically possible for CNN’s ratings to keep making headlines for caving, but here we are again. From the Washington Examiner:
CNN ratings have continued to plummet with the company averaging a nearly three-year low in viewership last week.
The network hit a five-year low among the key 25-54 demographic while it brought in 138,000 prime-time demographic viewers. The company averaged 643,000 prime-time viewers overall.
A FIVE YEAR LOW. Geez. At these numbers it’s basically people who are held hostage at airports forced to watch CNN, and right-wing bloggers looking to pounce on their next journalistic act of malpractice.
And of course, Fox News is trouncing them:
Fox News averaged 1.3 million viewers for its programming that week, and its prime-time listings brought in 2.2 million viewers on average and 303,000 demographic viewers.
Fox News topped the list of cable network day viewership, followed by the Hallmark Channel, ESPN, MSNBC, and Nickelodeon.
I don’t think we can make much of these numbers absolutely, but it does show that much of the exuberance in the runup to the election is on the right side and not the left. That may change after they choose their dimwit nominee and ease up on the circular firing squad… or maybe not!
