Kurt Schlichter was on Fox and Friends on Sunday to discuss his recent column about the “check your privilege” talk coming from the left lately. Per his usual style, Schlicter doesn’t mince words.
“All of us have worked, all of us have achieved something, that’s how we measure character, that’s how we measure what the value of a person is. Not some arbitrary category imposed by a bunch of ponytailed grad students who’ve taken too many gender studies seminars.”
Schlichter’s case is air tight. Blaming the success of others on some mythical privilege is nothing more than a way to get the right-leaning, small government, personal responsibility people marginalized as irrelevant, uncaring, and racist. As he says, it’s un-American and immoral.
And when my daughters are out in the workplace achieving as they have since they were born, it will be because they are exceptional, not because of some phantom privilege that lefties can’t stop whining about and looking for a crutch over. And anyone who says different of them will have to answer to me.
