Paul Ryan: If we try and tax our way out of our financial problems, we will crash our economy

Ryan argues that it’s the welfare state that has crippled Greece and that we are headed on the very same path. He is however very (perhaps overly) optimistic that we can change course if we make the tough decisions now. And that doesn’t include tax increases.

In fact, he says it is mathematically impossible to tax our way out of this problem, despite what Robert Reich says. “We do not have a revenue problem in this country, we have a spending problem in this country.” He argues that if we attempt to tax our way out of our current finical woes, we will crash this economy.
