Paul Ryan was asked this morning about Trump’s comments on Judge Curiel and he completely disavowed them. Ryan left no room for doubt on this, calling them indefensible and wrong-headed. Ryan said he can’t even relate to the comments:

You know it’s pretty stunning that the House Speaker would have to call comments by the Republican nominee racist.
Ryan also pointed out that while the comment itself is racist, he’s not going to speak to what is in Trump’s heart.

Paul Ryan makes clear that Trump is still the better of the two candidates as far as supporting the House’s agenda. Which is true. But Trump isn’t making it easy for Republicans to support him.
