PBS reporter Yamiche Alcindor hit Trump with another partisan question today based on one family who she says got sick in mid-March because Trump didn’t take coronavirus seriously:
Alcindor question: “I interviewed someone who said their family got sick, they went to a funeral in March, & they said mainly because the president wasn’t taking it seriously, that if the president had a mask on, if he was saying that we should stay home, we would’ve stayed home”

“…A man said his entire family got sick because they listened to you and didn't stay home. Are you concerned that downplaying the virus got people sick?”

This is ridiculous and here’s why. President Trump gave a national address on the coronavirus on March 11, which was literally at the very beginning of the time when our professional and collegiate sporting leagues were shutting down tournaments and seasons. March Madness closed down on the 12th. Even former RINO Governor John Kasich defended Trump’s serious tone in the address in a combative interview with CNN hack Don Lemon, saying this was exactly what he’d been wanting out of Trump all along.
In Trump’s national address he announced the US would be stopping flights from Europe, as well as serious efforts to mitigate the virus from spreading. For even more proof that we were at the beginning of this, the 11th was also the very day that WHO declared the coronavirus to be a worldwide pandemic. The US barely had over 1,000 cases at that point and New York had only around 220. Most states had hardly any cases at all.
So for Alcindor to even suggest that some family went to a funeral in mid March and blames Trump for getting the coronavirus is simply preposterous. But that’s our Democratic media these days, rewriting history in order to attack Trump.
