The audacity of Nancy Pelosi was on display for all to see when she compared impeaching Trump to the American Revolution:
Pelosi quotes Thomas Paine as saying “the times have found us” during the dark days of the revolution. She then says “we think the times have found us now”. It’s so absurd when you consider what she’s talking about, the phone call with the Ukrainian president.
Pelosi also claimed they have to be ‘fair’ to the president, which is why this is an inquiry and not a full-on impeachment:

This is also absurd. It’s not a full-on impeachment because the grounds for Pelosi’s impeachment inquiry are so flimsy that red-state Democrats are afraid they’ll get slaughtered next year if they go all in on an impeachment vote. So Nancy is protecting her members while her committees furiously try to dig up enough dirt on Trump to justify impeachment.
But even with regards to Trump, this inquiry is just another example of the unfair fishing expedition that’s been going on since Trump took office. Democrats – specifically Pelosi – were talking about impeachment not one month after Trump took office, saying they were searching for any reason to impeach Trump:
