Pentagon spox asked about deploying US troops to Ukraine… [VIDEO]

There’s a lot of buzz going around right now about the Pentagon announcing that it has placed 8,500 troops on heightened alert that they might have to deploy to NATO allies in Eastern Europe:

As I suggested earlier today, this is only about fulfilling NATO obligations to these countries around Ukraine and not about trying to stop Putin from invading Ukraine. In fact Kirby was asked today about deploying troops to Ukraine by Fox News reporter Jen Griffin:

Griffin asks Kirby, “If you’re not willing to send troops to Ukraine, what makes you think this is going to deter Vladimir Putin?”

I’m going to paraphrase, but in a nutshell Kirby said that these potential troop deployments aren’t meant to deter Putin. He said Biden’s economic sanctions are meant to do that.

In other words, it’s exactly was I said earlier today. If Putin invades Ukraine, no one will stop him. Biden will let him have it and everyone else will follow Biden’s lead. Putin will take Ukraine just like he took Crimea on Obama’s watch and Biden won’t do anything about it.

But hey, Trump was the Putin puppet in the White House, right?
