Philadelphia city leaders forcing indoor mask mandates AGAIN…

The city of Philadelphia apparently forgot that this is an election year and that Democrats were running from the virus like the plague.

They’ve just decided to reinvoke their indoor mask mandate despite the CDC giving no such guidelines:

AXIOS – Philadelphia announced Monday that it would reinstate its citywide mask mandate beginning April 18 due to rising COVID cases.

With the decision, the city will become one of the only major American localities to require masks in public.

The decision comes just over a month after the city originally dropped the mandate, moving to the “All Clear” response level of its four-tier system.

The city’s decision is at odds with the CDC, which currently does not recommend mandated masking for Philadelphia.

The CDC’s assessment takes in several factors, including low community spread, high levels of vaccination and population immunity, and reductions in hospitalizations and deaths.

As you might have guessed, people aren’t happy about it:

The last guy is absolutely right. When people do get the virus these days, at least in regard to non-vulnerable populations, it’s not all that bad.

The benchmark for such drastic measures shouldn’t be cases, but rather hospitalizations. But even so, the mask mandate has never stopped cases nor hospitalizations from occurring and if that isn’t evident by now, then these leaders are blind. Perhaps even willfully.
