This phony tweet from Joe Biden on Republicans cutting Veteran benefits didn’t go over very well with Republicans:
I hear House Republicans out on TV saying they would never vote to cut veterans’ benefits.
In case there’s any confusion, I made a little chart that could help them out. pic.twitter.com/SVvamK3KC2

This tweet is phony for two main reasons.
First of all, the most obvious is that Joe Biden didn’t make this chart. Nobody believes Biden has the ability to make a chart like this with such smooth lines. It was his staffers who made this and tweeted it.
Secondly, the premise of the chart is wrong. Republicans are not cutting veteran benefits and the logic in this chart doesn’t work:
Wow, this is so incredibly wrong. The first line does not describe the bill (which applies to *all* discretionary) and the rest would fail intro to logic.
You can say the GOP bill is likely to result in cuts to veterans. But failure to explicitly exempt vets ≠ cuts to vets. https://t.co/3HQ4lYLQJ7

“Failure to explicitly exempt vets does not equal cuts to vets.” Exactly.
Here’s more from Republicans on this phony tweet:
Your credibility is non-existent and your logic is asinine.
There are no cuts to veterans benefits in the House-passed Limit Save Grow Act, period. https://t.co/u9rmyCrWNN

1. Zero chance you made that chart or know how to use a computer.
2. We’re not cutting veterans’ benefits. Stop lying. https://t.co/Q0H3FnmDxH

More outright lying.
But putting it on WH letterhead is a great way to subtly remind people that the guy with the nuclear codes usually doesn't know what day it ishttps://t.co/RfBqzN3N5v https://t.co/GWHhLVrkf5

What’s even more of a lie is the idea that Joe Biden wants to protect Veteran’s benefits. House Republicans demonstrate that Joe Biden himself voted against Veterans’ benefits many times:
This is a LIE.
The fact is as a Senator Joe Biden boasted about wanting to cut veterans' benefits. https://t.co/ABKTrrkI0I https://t.co/3cvjuOmMbh

Biden also has a long history of voting against veterans’ benefits.
In 1999, Biden voted against an amendment that would have reallocated $210 million for veterans’ medical benefits and $10 million for the construction of veterans’ extended care facilities.

In 2001, Biden voted against an amendment that would have increased funding for veterans’ medical care by $650 million.

In 2006, Biden voted against legislation that would have added $20 million for veterans’ healthcare facilities.
