Pete Souza, the White House photographer for the Obama admin, tried really hard to prove that the situation room photo of Trump is staged.
Sure he didn’t say it, but that’s how people took it.
They’re all claiming that Trump was golfing during the raid, and that the photograph was staged later.
@PeteSouza initiated the claim that the president was golfing during the raid and that the photo of him viewing it was a staged photo op.
It prompted plenty of blue checks to go on their usual witch hunt: pic.twitter.com/tZ2lBlDtl9

But, according to the NYT later, the raid began at 5:00, not earlier:
SO there goes that conspiracy theory, but they’re still tweeting it:
Deleted this tweet because the NYT is now reporting that the raid began about 45 minutes after Trump returned to the White House from golfing pic.twitter.com/il0HvMr7s3

And having to retract their tweets:
Riiiight…
Then there’s this idiot who keeps being caught on this kind of stuff:
Trump is pretty dumb. But he’s not dumb enough to go golfing when there’s an important raid on Baghdadi. The only way that would happen is if someone working for Trump is even dumber than him, didn’t tell him about it, and allowed him to go golfing. The incompetence is scary.

And more:
BUt have no worry, they will find other nutty conspiracy theories to cling to if the last one falls apart:
One of these photos is staged. @PeteSouza’s photo was taken from the corner of the room since he was trying to stay out of the way.

Everyone in the @realDonaldTrump photo is looking straight at the camera, the photographer would‘ve blocked the screen Obama et al were looking at pic.twitter.com/nFQfmQl4Pz
Uh… OK? Sure buddy. Good luck on that one….
