POLL: Obamacare was key issue

A poll released Thursday morning shows that Obamacare was an important issue for people who showed up to vote, proving once again that the GOP has a mandate to change the law.

Only 12% voted to send a positive message about Obamacare while 28% voted to send a negative message. In 2010 when the “wound” was fresh, 45% voted to send an anti-Obamacare message.

The party breakdown gives an even better picture:

Only 4% Independents and 26% Democrats voted to send a positive Obamacare message. while 28% Independents and 55% Republicans voted to send an anti-Obamacare message.

The low interest by Democrats to defend Obamacare (only 26% of them) compared to the vibrant interest by Republicans to send a negative message (55% of them) is probably a reason why Dem turnout was suppressed while GOP turnout elevated. As Obama told the GOP during the shutdown: Go out and win an electionif you want to change the law.

Well Mr. President. The GOP won an election. — an election where Obamacare was the most used issue in the ads in the closing weeks.
