There are now indications that Governor DeSantis may be starting to gain ground on Trump in multiple polls around the US.
We’ll start with this one from Texas, via Newsmax:
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has picked up 14 points in his bid to try to overcome Donald Trump’s lead in Texas, but still trails the former president among likely Republican primary voters in the state 47% to 23%, a new poll by the Defend Texas Liberty PAC shows.
An April poll by the PAC had found Trump leading DeSantis 54% to 16%.
DeSantis increases 7 points while Trump decreases 7 points.
Here’s a new poll from Iowa:

DeSantis increases 5 points while Trump falls 9 points.
It’s clear that Trump certainly still leads in these polls. But it does appear DeSantis is starting to gain ground and we’re only a little over a week into his campaign.
