Last night an Antifa mob formed at a police crime scene in Portland and attacked police officers and their vehicles after a fatal police-involved shooting occurred during a welfare check. Here’s the police description of what happened and a video by Andy Ngo:
On Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 7:06p.m., North Precinct officers were dispatched to a report of a welfare check on a white adult male dressed in all black at a motel in the 500 block of Northeast Holladay Street. After officers arrived with paramedics, they encountered a man matching that description and an officer involved shooting took place.
The subject involved was transported to a hospital by ambulance. Despite lifesaving efforts by medical personnel, he was deceased.

During the investigation, a group gathered at the crime scene and began yelling, throwing items at officers, and attempting to interfere with the investigation (photo). One officer’s baton was grabbed and she was being pulled toward the crowd. Other officers quickly intervened. Someone from the crowd pepper sprayed an officer. At least one police vehicle’s tires were punctured and a window broken. Police officers citywide were called to assist with scene security.
You can see in the video that rioters are also throwing large objects at the officers. Completely unacceptable. But with the city undoubtedly tying the hands of officers, it ends up just being another day, another riot in Portland.
