At today’s press conference, Jay Carney resorted to using countdown clocks as props to remind the scribes in the press corps that the payroll tax holiday will expire at the end of this year unless Congress acts.
While the rest of us either roll our eyes or laugh out loud at such a desperate tactic, I’m afraid John Boehner’s knees probably buckled a little bit when he saw this:
Rest assured though that the countdown clock below is the one Obama really has his eye on. I guess we’re supposed to believe he’s working “every single day” to fix the economy and create jobs or whatever, even when he’s out on the golf course and eating shaved iced for two and half weeks. Think he’ll postpone if Congress hasn’t “acted” by December 17? Yeah right.
