Publix spoke out today after the hit job on Governor DeSantis last night from 60 Minutes, essentially calling the report from 60 Minutes “absolutely false and offensive”:

Here’s the full statement:
The irresponsible suggestion that there was a connection between campaign contributions made to Governor DeSantis and our willingness to join other pharmacies in support of the state’s vaccine distribution efforts is absolutely false and offensive.
We are proud of our pharmacy associates for administering more than 1.5 million doses of vaccine to date and for joining other retailers…to do our part to help our communities emerge from the pandmeic.
As we pointed out this morning, the only reason Publix is even caught up in this is because CBS is targeting DeSantis because he looks like a strong contender for 2024. I’m glad they are standing up for the truth here against the lies from 60 Minutes and I hope the citizens of Florida rally around them.
